About Us

'Swapnotthan' started its journey in 2007 with the motto of 'Dip Shikha Hathe Swapner Pothe'. This voluntary organization was formed by the tireless efforts of some energetic young people of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, a digital learning center known as Aturghar of Technology in this town in the northeast of the country.

Many people have taken the lead of this organization on this long journey. The name 'Shafiqur Rahman' is pronounced a little differently among them. Under his leadership, today's dream organization 'Swapnotthan' is the result of relentless efforts of some young people who have dreams in the spirit of education and service to the underprivileged people of society.

Dreamers have been making dreams come true to ensure services to the underprivileged population ever since. The vow remains in the realization of one dream. The organization is committed to breaking down barriers to the dreams of underprivileged people.

In other words, the child who grew up without a family is determined to show the right path in life. The volunteers of 'Swapnotthan' stand by the side of the child who has stepped on the wrong path due to environmental conditions as brothers and sisters. The shadow of the guardian is next to the child who does not get the sympathy of the parents. All of this is possible even with the dreamers and volunteers of the dreamers. A child's dream is kept alive with absolute love, compassion and affection.

We are constantly doing various voluntary work under three wings (Blood Wing, School Wing, Charity Wing).

School wing: Backward an underprivileged children of the society, who have taken the burden of the family on their heads at this young age, who work during the day to support their families in different places, so that they do not fall behind in education, our volunteers do their regular work 5 days a week in the evening without remuneration. Classes are held through Bholananda Night School. Also, different programs like Sports competition, Quiz competition, Iftar mehfil etc. organize by us for the students.

Blood wing: In order not to lose a life due to lack of blood, for this purpose our volunteers are ready 24 hours for emergency blood collection and donation at various places in Sylhet as well as all over Bangladesh. Our 24/7 blood hotline number- 01612007207.

Charity wing: Under this wing, our volunteers try to stand by the people in various ways, including distribution of winter clothes, distribution of Eid clothes, distribution of daily food, support to people affected by various disasters, support in the treatment of people suffering from incurable diseases. Also, Charity programs like Film fest, Book fair, Bosonto Utshob, Pitha Utshob organized by the wing to help the needy people.

Apart from this, various national days are celebrated by 'Swapnotthan'. Inspired by the national spirit, 'Swapnotthan' organizes quiz competitions, sports competitions and cultural programs on the days in honor of the country. To bring harmony, innovation and liveliness to the monotony of university and volunteer work, 'Swapnotthan' organizes an annual banquet and barbeque festival with its members and well-wishers. On the other hand, cultural evenings, badminton tournaments, road painting, and fall festivals are organized. Moreover, in recent times various awareness programs have been organized in collaboration with various voluntary organizations such as Anti-Drug Seminar with Drug Prevention Center, Seminar on Volunteering with United Nations Volunteers (UNV), or Free Dental Checkup and Oral Health Awareness in collaboration with Dental Care Sylhet by 'Swapnotthan'.
